Sinclair ZX 81
A home computer produced by Sinclair Research, manufactured in Dundee, Scotland and launched in the UK in March 1981 as the successor to the Sinclair ZX80. It was designed to be a small, simple, inexpensive introduction to home computing for the general public. It has few components, no power switch or moving parts. Video output is to a television set rather than a dedicated monitor. Programs and data are loaded and saved on to compact audio cassettes. It was a huge commercial success both here and in the USA
