Blandford Museum Victorian Gardeners are looking forward to the 2025 season, our 18th year.
Bunches of flowers and foliage from the garden sell very well at events such as coffee mornings. We have grown dahlias and sweet peas for a few years and added alstroemeria last year. Inspired by a recent RHS article on Everlastings, we have decided to fill a bed of approx. 9 square metres with cut flowers, including some for drying. Some anemone centre dahlias will be added together with lots of seeds from Chiltern, which have the potential for a wonderful display and harvest.
This sketch by our resident artist is to encourage us in these grey February days.
The Garden Group have worked on Tuesday mornings since 2020, but have decided to try a second regular session on the 2nd and 4th Saturday mornings of the month, starting in March. This gives the current team a choice of working days and we hope to encourage new volunteers who may be free at weekends. Anyone is welcome to visit the Garden during Museum opening times: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10am-4pm. Admission to the Museum and Garden is Free.
