The completed embroidery depicting the lives of medieval woman in the DT11 area of the Dorset Stour Valley was publicly displayed for the first time at the Open Day of the newly refurbished Blandford Corn Exchange on Sunday 20 November 2025. The embroidery looked impressive and drew considerable interest from the public, with 6 potential embroiderers asking to join the Group for the next Blandford in Stitches project: the Fire Dress.

To conclude this project, which was started in September 2021, a meeting was held at the Museum in December, for group members, including three who had decided not to continue to the next project. Thanks to Anne, Chris and Pat for their huge contribution to the Stour Valley Project.

The embroiderers, about 20 over the past 4 years, have each written a short profile on why they joined the group, what they discovered about themselves, embroidery and mediaeval life. These, along with numerous photographs of how the work progressed and evolved, will be used to compile various publications and fliers to accompany the Embroidery when it is shown to schools, villages and elsewhere. A permanent home has yet be determined.

In order to commemorate the embroiderers, each has worked their name on a panel to be attached to the reverse of the Embroidery.
