It’s been a good year for the Victorian Garden. Climate Resilient beds have proved largely successful although some sorting out and removal of thugs was needed! The Sweet Peas are a triumph, ‘Growing like topsy’ after a slowish start. We have lost count of the number of bunches picked. Monthly Plant Sales this year have been the best ever; due to the relocation of the sales table and a good supply of well grown plants.
There are still a few months to go, depending on the weather. July proved too hot to hold the scheduled event. However, we hope that on 13th September and 11th October we will see both new and regular customers. Meanwhile we will be selling plants from the Garden on Tuesday mornings. We’ve had four gardeners leave and only two new gardeners in the last couple of years, so if there’s anyone reading this who would like to join, please contact us via the Museum for a chat or just come along on any Tuesday morning between 10:30 and 13:00. We do need some committed regular people to join our happy group keeping the Victorian Garden up together.
