Discover some of the history of our unique Georgian town with town guides from the Blandford Civic Society.

Heritage walks, telling the story of the town up to the Georgian rebuilding of the town centre, start from the flood wall in the Marsh & Ham car park behind Morrisons (April 12, May 10, June 14, July 12, August 9, and September 13). There will be two additional Heritage walks on September 16 (6pm) and September 20, as part of Dorset Architectural Heritage Week.

Perimeter walks of more recent development (April 26, May 24, June 28, July 26, August 23 and September 27), and Geology walks examining the history of the stones making up the town’s architecture, (July 19, August 16 and September 20 (2 pm)) start in front of Greyhound House in the Market Place.

The Walks start at 11 am (unless noted above) and last approximately two hours. There is no charge, but donations are welcome!
