Drawing of proposed new buildingsThe Blandford Museum has long needed more space for storage, meetings, educational visits by schools, garden events, and many other things, but suitable premises are difficult to find in Blandford. However, thanks to the generosity of our landlords William Williams, we now have an agreement to lease the gravel area between the Museum and Garden, and to put a structure on that space that will help meet our needs.

This has all come about very quickly and is moving at a fast pace! But now we are really in need of input from our volunteers, members, and the local community.

During the second week of October (8/10/24 – 12/10/24) the plans for the new building, as far as they have been developed at the moment, will be on display at the museum. We want to encourage your input, ideas, and thoughts on how this moves forward, and there will be space in the display for you to write your thoughts. In addition, we are holding an open meeting on Saturday, November 2nd at 2pm at the museum for more discussion about the project.

If you cannot make that date, please bring your comments to the museum during the month of October or send them via our Contacts page.
