200 Years of Railways in Blandford

2025 marks the 200th anniversary of the first passenger railway service in the world.
Blandford Town Museum will be holding a day to celebrate the arrival of the railway into Blandford. There will be a demonstration of an early Somerset and Dorset model locomotive, as well as the layout of the station as it was in the 1960s.
Refreshments will be available.
Blandford Model Railway club are holding an open day also on the same day, so you can visit them at the Scout hut in Eagle House Gardens, Blandford Forum, DT11 7BS.
