A publication by the Town Museum details the owners and businesses of properties in the town centre up to the turn of the 19th /20th century, and work has begun to provide similar detail on the businesses which have existed since.
A list has been developed of over 260 properties and their uses from pre-war to post millennium, with information sought from documents, advertisements, newspaper reports and whatever memories people may have.
